He was a visiting scholar at the Moshe Dayan Center at Tel Aviv University, where he conducted the anthropological fieldwork on Jews who migrated to Israel from Turkey. His research interests are, Ottoman Jews, Jews of Turkey, Jewish cultural studies and social and cultural anthropology. Tel Aviv University's Moshe Dayan Center is indisputably one of the most influential think tanks and research hubs in the region. "Our scholarly approach sets the agenda for debate on key issues of our time," says Prof. Uzi Rabi, the Dayan Center's director, and an authority on the Gulf Region and Iran, with a focus on Iranian Arab relations. We learn of two Egyptian nationals, working separately for the Mossad, who supplied Israel with key information that helped change the course of the war; of Defense Minister Moshe Dayan's proposal for a nuclear "demonstration" to warn off the Arabs; and of Chief of Staff David Elazar's conclusion on the fifth day of battle that Israel could not.
